Messeparkplatz P2 – Essen, 2020

During Corona lockdown I regularly visited this vast space right within my neighborhood and tried to capture the different light, atmospheres and uses of this otherwise rather neglected place. Until mid-90s this area was a train station for freight and passenger transport. Now it's a car park for the fair of the city of Essen. Most of the time though, it's just a fallow space. When playgrounds and social places closed due to the Coronavirus, people of the district discovered this place to meet friends, do sports and have a family picknick.
